Tom’s story

Dr. Tom Pinkson, A New Vision of Living and Fruitful Aging | www.DrTomPinkson.comFor over 45 years I have traveled the globe from the Amazon to the Yukon, from Polynesia to South East Asia, throughout the United States and Europe studying indigenous wisdom ways, including completion of a 11 year apprenticeship with Huichol shamans of Mexico, while earning 3 degrees and keeping up with the latest findings of western psychology, wellness practices, brain science and quantum physics which I use to help people wake up, remember and live from the truth of who and what we are and why we are here.

From developing a successful wilderness treatment program for heroin addicts in the early 70’s, helping start the first at-home Hospice program in the United States and working with children and adults facing life-threatening illness with innovative attitudinal healing practices for over thirty years, along with leading vision quests and creating meaningful rites of passage ceremonies into puberty, marriage childbirth, healing and aging fruitfully for over forty years I know that the truth of our deepest being is the luminousity of unconditional love, wisdom, creativity and joy.

I have worked with thousands of people around the world helping them find and live this truth in their daily lives . Towards this end I have authored four books, Fruitful Aging: Finding the Gold in the Golden Years, Shamanic Wisdom of the Huichol: Medicine Teachings for Modern Times, Do They Celebrate Christmas in Heaven? Spiritual Rite of Passage Teachings from Children with Life-Threatening Illness and Climbing the Ladder, created entertaining You Tube videos and CD’s, founded the non-profit organization, WAKAN, and most recently developed a Recognition Rite of Passage Program Honoring Elders Program.

  1. Dear Tom–I was glad to see a link to your work in the Life Planning Network (LPN) website. I like your mix of activism, reflection and spiritual seeking that appears to be a source of renewal for you. These forces appear to transfer to your work with clients.
I am LPN’s National Webinar host and Program chair for the New England Chapter and would like to invite you to consider being a Webinar presenter sometime in 2016. Our meetings are usually on a Friday, for one hour, at noon, EST. As you probably know, LPN is a community of professionals who help people over 50 redesign and navigate the second half of life. Judging from your website, you may be in a far off land this coming year but should you be available, I’d love to hear from you. Also, if you had an associate who lived near the Boston area and might be interested in addressing one of our quarterly meetings, I’d be glad to know of such a person. I am a career and life design consultant, teacher of autobiography and an intentional travel trip leader–your work resonates with me. Thank you for considering this invitation! 2. Tomas……this new sight and your blog is fabulous! Of course, I am just one, of the many, of the ONE, whose life has been informed and transformed by your teachings and graced by your wisdom and friendship for over 25 years. I cannot thank you enough for all the gifts you have given me and our Wakan community guiding us with practical tools and real-time experiences to become deeper listeners to our own inner guidance. You are a master at “holding space”, be that one on one, or in a group. Your listening and presence creates ceremony in all your relationships and calls for deeper connections to the truths we all share. I have witnessed you over and over again, through the years, build your gifts with great power, sincerity, humility and sensitivity in which you command, create and honor the Sacred Space within and without. Thank you for building the so many bridges in the world that are creating greater unity. Your commitment to your work and continued vigilance to ceaselessly follow your inner call continues to inspire me. Thank you and your beautiful family, for all their support, for all that you do.
    Much love, dear brother……Tonijean
