Playing for Change

The Inspiration

Playing for Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. The idea for this project arose from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. No matter whether people come from different geographic, political, economic, spiritual or ideological backgrounds, music has the universal power to transcend and unite us as one human race. And with this truth firmly fixed in our minds, we set out to share it with the world.

Sacred Ceremonial Heart Songs & Chants

[mp3player width=300 height=300 config=fmp_jw_widget_config.xml playlist=fmp_jw_widget_playlist.xml]

The songs and chants offered here come from many different people and many different places. Over the years they have found their way into my heart and I sing them at ceremonies, in the car, working in the garden, just about any old place they want to come out and be sung! Here are ten songs from my CD “Sacred Ceremonial Heart Songs and Chants“.  More songs will posted soon.

I offer prayers of thanksgiving to the people who composed them and brought them through. Ultimately, I give thanks to the Great Mystery and all the indigenous peoples around the world who know that heart song is really the voice of the Spirit using particular words and sounds to get across a message, to bring “medicine” through to uplift people, to inspire, to touch souls and to help us remember that we are all sacred worthy beings, that our essence is love and that our love is for giving.

I hope you enjoy listening and singing along, sharing the joy of singing and making music with friends. By the way, this music is not about entertainment or performance. What it’s about is “attainment” attaining states of consciousness that allow for the flow of a healing love in which we all joined together in an invisible web of inter-connectivity.

Don’t be surprised if new songs, tunes and chants start singing themselves through you. We are all made to sing, dance, and create music; it’s in our genes, our bones and our souls. In fact, some of these songs are prayer songs that feed our souls when we sing them. So take a deep breath, streeeetchhh, let it out and open your self to a celebration of life, of mystery, of creation, of being.

May the songs be with you!
